Challenges

Saks Potts faced challenges in organizing their data to gain a better overview and understanding of their returns. They relied on Shopify analytics for assistance but found the sorting functionality limited and struggled to navigate and gain clear insights. They where also missing return reasons and an understanding of why their customers where returning.

"We have bi-weekly meetings and reports with our CEO and status of returns are often a large part of the discussions. We don't really have any overview, so it is a lot of guessing what was going on..."

Head of E-commerce

Solution

Saks Potts integrated with Float and got a complete overview of their returns across markets, categories, seasons and styles. Easily integrated they got a live data feed from their Shopify stores.

"We are super happy with the overview and insights Float provides. It would require massive internal data analytics capabilities to come near that.. I love the actionability of their insights also."

Actionability

As part of the the overview and insights, Saks Potts was alerted that one of their hero products was running large to size. Many customers were returning and exchanging it for a smaller size, while most were opting to keep the smallest size when ordering multiple pairs to try on at home.

Saks Potts quickly changed their product description and included a size guidance: "please note that these jeans runs oversized and we recommend sizing down".

Over the following months, returns came down 33% and number of returns happening as result of shoppers ordering multiple sizes came down 41%.
